As part of the "2nd International Summer School of Advanced Soil Physics" under the theme "Modeling Water Fluxes in the Soil-Plant System", Lina Rohlmann was able to learn the fundamentals of soil-plant modeling in September 2025. Organized by the Université catholique de Louvain in collaboration with Forschungszentrum Jülich, the event conveyed modeling approaches through lectures by experts from various disciplines, demonstrations of laboratory and measurement equipment, and hands-on exercises ranging from the smallest scale of plant roots to the dynamics of soil water balance. The one-week course was complemented by numerous networking opportunities with instructors and other participants, and funded through ZALF's individual training budget, opening up new possibilities for data analysis and processing in the SoilRob project.
