Students from the Technical University of Munich visit the SoilRob field trial at ZALF.
/ ZALF, Müncheberg
As part of the Pentecost field trip organized by the Agricultural Sciences program at the Technical University of Munich, numerous interested students visited us at ZALF in Müncheberg on May 29, 2026. In addition to providing insights into current research on legumes and alfalfa cultivation, the event also focused on the role that autonomous field robots could play in sustainable agricultural systems in the future.
The SoilRob team presented its current field trial with the FarmDroid FD20 autonomous field robot and explained the scientific questions surrounding mechanical weed control, soil health, and digital agriculture. The field trip was organized by the Chair of Organic Agriculture and Crop Production Systems at the Technical University of Munich and took the students to numerous farms and research institutions in Saxony, Saxony-
Anhalt, Berlin, and Brandenburg. We would like to thank the students for their interest and the engaging discussion.
